I know you said Citroen don't do the parts separately but the spring apparently has a part number (0000)8916GT @£14.50 + VAT and is it just a case of getting a garag

When the seat is stuck forward only the rear floor bolts for the slide bars are accessible - so the whole seat can't be removed and the only way to inspect the slide rails for foreign objects is to remove the plastic side trims. it's not clear how to remove them even when the trim studs at the rear are taken out.

Lift up the rear seats and remove the plastic sill cover. Fold down the rear seats and move the near-side centre seat fully forward. Carefully start removing the plastic trim. The top piece from the rear-most window. Remove the screw from the tonneau bracket. Pop out the boot lamp. Remove the screw from the top side panel.
