The KTM 790 Adventure (along with its stablemate the 790 Adventure R) is based on the LC8c engine that first debuted in the KTM 790 Duke, with which the 790 Adventure’s maintenance schedule has some commonalities. It’s a liquid-cooled fuel-injected parallel twin that makes max power of 71 kW (95 hp) at 8250 rpm, with peak torque of 89 Nm
On the 790 standard rims, in 150/70-18 TL, you can pick Rallz (70 Q), Adventure (70 Q), GPS (70 T), or Desert (70 Q) depending on your usage. I just ordered a Rallz tire in a 140/80-18 size. Rocky Mt ATV/MC lists 10 different sizes, in 17, 18, 19 and 21 inches. kubcat and Dusty like this.

They are a little soft but track well and stick to the dirt real good. One guy says they get loose in wet asphalt but i haven't experienced that. You might get a few miles less but they are a good 20/80 (80 being dirt) tire, keep in mind this is a 990 perspective and the 790 is a touch lighter.
I really think that the 3' and 3.5" wide rear hoops are a goofy size. With a 2.5" rear, the opportunities open up for a whole lot more dirt tire options (as well as rim locks). I currenty run a 1.6" front and a 2.5" rear for general BDR riding. If i'm racing, then i'll swap on my 18x2.15" rear A60.
The main differences between the 790 Adventure R and the base model are tires (Metzeler Karoo 3), a higher seat, Rally riding mode fitted as standard, and the WP-sourced Xplor suspension. Going down the list, I was extremely happy with the Karoo 3 tires considering the terrain we were in. If I was riding at a blistering pace off-road, maybe not
The factory tires on my 790 ADV R never loss much # sitting. But if your reducing psi and running off road and bending rims, that could cause it. On my kawa I run 12-16#F/6-8#R running tubliss depending on the sizes of rocks, but that is going slow. My 790 just a few gravel & trails here and there, so I don't even bother.
